I want to be direct with anyone considering reaching out to my office about a new case: at this time, I am not accepting new private clients except in Level 1 felony and murder matters.
This isn’t a reflection of my interest in other kinds of cases — it’s a decision about capacity. Between my public defender caseload, which is demanding on its own, and the private clients I’m already representing, I want to make sure every case I take on gets the depth of investigation, preparation, and attention it deserves. Spreading myself across too many matters at once is exactly the kind of shortcut I don’t think serves clients well, and it’s not how I want to practice.
What This Means in Practice
- If you or a loved one is facing a Level 1 felony or murder charge, I am currently available to discuss representation.
- If the charge is a different felony level, I am not accepting new private clients for those matters right now. I know that’s not what anyone wants to hear when they’re trying to find help, and I don’t take that lightly.
- This is a temporary restriction, not a permanent change to my practice. I’ll update this page and reach back out to anyone who contacted me in the meantime if that changes.
Why I’m Posting This Publicly
I’d rather be upfront about where things stand than have someone spend time reaching out, only to learn after a consultation fee and a conversation that I can’t take the case. If I can’t help directly, I’m glad to point you toward other resources or attorneys who may have availability.
If you’re facing a Level 1 felony or murder charge in LaPorte County, Northwest Indiana, or Illinois, call 219-213-2210 to schedule a consultation.
